Back pieces and leg sleeves are the work I most want in my books. They are the reason I opened a quiet studio instead of a busy one.
A large project is a relationship, not an appointment. We plan it together, we build it in stages, and you get to see it develop over months.
How a large project starts
You send me the idea and the area you want covered. I do not need it fully figured out. I need to know what matters to you and roughly how far you want it to go.
From there I map the coverage on your body, decide where the piece anchors, and draw the whole structure before we tattoo a single line. Planning the full shape first is what keeps a project from looking assembled later.
How sessions are paced
We usually start with the outline of a full section, then shade and build outward. Sessions are longer than a small piece and we take real breaks.
I space appointments so each area heals properly. Rushing a back piece is the fastest way to end up with uneven healing across it.
What to plan for
Time and budget both stretch across the whole project, not one visit. I will be direct with you about that up front.
In Arizona summers, plan for a healing window where you can stay out of pools and direct sun. That usually shapes when we schedule the bigger sittings.

- How many sessions is a full back piece?
- It depends on detail and coverage. Plan for several full days across months rather than a fixed number.
- Can I break it up over a year?
- Yes. Most of my large projects run at whatever pace works for the client, as long as we keep momentum.
- Do you take on unfinished work from another artist?
- Sometimes. Send photos of the existing work and I will tell you honestly whether I can carry it forward.
